Made from equal proportions of Grenache and Carignan (locally know as Samso) from vineyards that are a minimum of 50 years old, this is a truly explosive wine that will amaze anyone who has never tried Monsant. Aged in 1st and 2nd year barrels, the oak is delicate and well integrated into the wine. Fresh on entry with plenty of small red fruits evident, big structure and despite the high alcohol, it is certainly not obvious. The tannins are there but ripe and well rounded, hints of rosemary too behind the pure fruit and a big, explosive finish. Don't miss this wine, it really is a sensation.
