Barolo Roggeri - Ciabot Berton 2006
Overview
The vineyard of Roggeri lies just below the village of La Morra and benefits from vines that are 40+ years old giving superb fruit. The clay/limestone soil gives the wine it's structure and this is one of the firmest wines of La Morra. Intense red garnet color with ruby reflexions, a decidedly fruity aroma, with scent of prunes, dried roses and spices. Full bodied to the taste, with a strong but silky tannic structure. The finish is persistently long too.
