The vineyard of Castel Ringberg is one of the finest in the Alto Adige. Facing South-East in the southern most part of the region, the climate is mild and the Pinot Grigio is planted on the higher part of the slopes to give a longer ripening season thereby giving more complexity to both grapes and wine.

Discreet aromas of soft ripe fruits lead to a full and chewy palate dominated by pears. The ripeness is obvious and although extremely fruity it most certainly is not sweet and a layer of minerality underpins the whole thing. The finish just grows and grows, its not explosive just really elegant. This is top-class Pinot Grigio and although it is excellent when drunk by itself, it makes a sensational food wine.
