The Rucahue property was a wilderness when Jose (Pepe) Esturillo bought it in 1982. Laboriously he cleared the land and planted vines of the highest quality. Situated on the slopes of the Rucahue Range in the Maule Valley it is a wild and beautiful place and the Esturillos intervene as little as possible in the natural growth of the grapes. The consistent climate and high altitude produces healthy, fully ripe grapes and modern techniques ensure their full flavour is passed on to the wines. This wine was fermented in stainless steel tanks to retain all the fresh and vibrant plummy fruit associated with the varietal. Intense and complex aromas that burst with pepper and mint, a big, fresh palate with flavours of red berries and a full and lasting finish make this an ideal partner to pasta and white meats. Terrific value.
