Born out of the 2 distinct palates of Ernie Els (Bordeaux) and Jean Engelbrecht (Shiraz) who have been long life friends. This fantastic wine is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Malbec and Petit Verdot making it easy to see why the wine has such a complex nature. The wonderful aromas of cedar and pencil shavings support the depth of fruit from the Shiraz component. On the palate it is dominated by black fruit with a rich fruit cake core that are backed by soft ripe tannins. A most impressive wine that although it bears the name of one of sports superstars, rightfully deserves a place alongside some of the world's greatest bottles.
