Nebbiolo the king of North Western Italy can look un-impressive and gives variable crops with low sugar and high acid. The 2003 vintage however has produced a great wine and allowed Tony Murphy to show the exceptional quality of this difficult grape variety. Moderatly coloured the wine has a complex nose of leather, berry fruits with some floral notes and the lightest touch of oak. On the palate it is medium bodied with fine grain tannins and long savoury finish that is ideal when served with tradition Italian cuisine or pork.
