Riesling has become the signature grape of the Clare Valley and rightly so for there it is grown to perfection with this example from Pikes being quite superb. The aromas are of citrus fruits and green apple, the palate offering loads of crisp, fresh and zesty fruit balanced by minerals and a clean, vibrant acidity. It’s a joy to drink at present but will develop over the years to give those honeyed nuances and petrol notes that are the hallmark of the great Rieslings. Excellent wine!
