Chateau Valrose Cuvee Alienor - St Estephe

What a wonderful estate, only 5 hectares but nestling next to the fabled vineyards of Cos d'Estournel in the heart of St Estephe. Unusually for the appellation it is predominately Merlot grapes that give rise to this astounding bottle. Loaded with dark spicy fruit and polished by the judicious use of new oak the wine is full flavoured and complete with a massive aftertaste. Although ideal for drinking at the moment it has many years of life ahead of it in bottle if you can keep your hands off it for that long!
