The 2001 vintage for this property was quite exceptional and the wine has achieved a persistence in the mouth never before seen here. Wonderfully intense aromas of dried grapes lead to more complex notes of stewed fruit. In the mouth it is full and ripe with notes of tropical fruits, especially mango, together with the tell-tale orange peel hints so associated with fine Sauternes. The aftertaste is unctuous and extremely long. Sensational wine for now or the next 15 years.
