One of the great second growths of the Medoc, Chateau Montrose comes from the commune of St Estephe and is typical with its austere tannins in youth. This is however, in perfect form at present (2009) yet if cellared in good conditions should last a further couple of decades. Rich and intense with black fruit flavours dominating both the nose and the palate with sweet hints of vanilla and some spice behind. This is a great example of just what this Chateau can produce and would grace any cellar.
