Beaujolais
The home of the Gamay grape. Often underestimated, these can be serious wines of instant appeal and offer great value.

Well-made Beaujolais is one of the most refreshing, instantly appealing and high-spirited red wines of all. In its youth it is the quaffing wine par excellence. With age the better Villages and Cru wines (made from the Gamay grape grown on granitic soil) take on a depth and complexity to be savoured slowly. Grown up wines!

Well coloured with aromas of plums and cherries, delicious sweet fruit on the palate and perfectly balanced with a good overcoat of tannin and a dark lingering finish.

A great example of Fleurie packed with raspberry , blackcurrant and cherry fruit. Elegant and persistant it is really at home with ham or poultry dishes. A great introduction to red wine!

Grown in the granite rich soils of Ronameche Thorins, this is a full and vigorous style of Beaujolais with bright fruit aromas and flavours with notes of cigar box. Big in the aftertaste, it is drinking well at the moment but will develop in bottle over the coming 5 years to approach the style of the Cote d'Or.

Despite the title ‘Cuvee Tardive’, this is not a dessert style of wine, it’s simply picked 10 days later than the main wine giving greater ripeness in the aromas and on the palate.
