Dark fruit aromas with notes of tobacco leading to a clean, fresh palate with tannins evident and a dry finish. The wine will soften in time for those that find the tannins too robust at present (2009). Decant an hour or so before serving to allow the wine to open.

Wonderfully intense aromas of dried grapes lead to more complex notes of stewed fruit. In the mouth it is full and ripe with notes of tropical fruits, especially mango, together with the tell-tale orange peel hints so associated with fine Sauternes. The aftertaste is unctuous and extremely long.
