Well we know the Ashes aren't going too well but these two little crackers from Shane McLoughlin really are too good to miss. A crisp and full flavoured Sauvignon that you would think comes from New Zealand and the wonderful Shiraz/Grenache / Mourvedre blend that's just like a Chateauneuf du Pape with some added sunshine. Terrific value.

Canonbah Bridge Sauvignon Blanc - New South Wales - 3 bottles
Wonderful ripe Sauvgnon with loads of gooseberry fruit with some tropical notes. Crisp zesty acidity to balance and a firm fresh finish. Brilliant with seafood and fish dishes and a really fine partner to goats cheese.

Canonbah Bridge Shiraz/Grenache/Mourvedre - New South Wales - 3 bottles
This classic Rhone blend sits halfway between the new and old worlds. Powerful Grenache fruit with the shiraz giving blackcurrant notes and the Mouvedre hints of leather, the extra sunshine it received under drought conditions added an extra dimension with a ripeness that is not seen in the Rhone. A classy wine that is ideal for roast meats and game.
