Engelbrecht Els Vineyards
This is a joint venture between long standing friends Ernie Els and Jean Engelbrecht. The EE vineyards are located high up on the northern slopes of the Helderberg Mountain. The stunning new winery was opened at the end of 2004. The wine-maker is Louis Strydom.
Ernie Els is one of South Africa's leading ambassadors and one of the most recognisable faces in the world of sport. His collaboration with Jean to make world class wines has been an oustanding success.
Guardian Peak is part of the new generation of wines from the Cape. Made by Louis Strydom, to combine the best of the traditional with the exuberance of the New World. The grapes are sourced from their own vineyards and other selected vineyards in the Western Cape. The wine are immediately accessible and made for drinking on their own and to complement food.

This classic Rhone blend is intensly coloured with distinctly savoury aromas that quickly develop into plums and blackcurrant backed by notes of chocolate and coffee. This fantastic wine is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Malbec and Petit Verdot making it easy to see why the wine has such a complex nature. The wonderful aromas of cedar and pencil shavings support the depth of fruit from the Shiraz component. On the palate it is dominated by black fruit with a rich fruit cake core that are backed by soft ripe tannins.
