Azienda Agricola Mastrojanni

This venture started in 1975 and now covers 90 hectares of land, with just over 24 hectares of cultivated vines. The estate is in the South East Montalcino district overlooking where the Asso and Orcia rivers converge. This prime location also benefits from the environmental influences of the nearby extinct and ancient Monte Amiata volcano. This stone-rich soil and south, south-east facing gentle slopes guarantee the production of excellent quality wine.

An intense ruby red wine that has a full and open nose of ripe spicy fruit with complex meaty aromas. On the palate these flavours linger to culminate in a soft velvety finish.
	Brunello di Montalcino "Vigna Schiena D'Asino" - Mastrojanni R3 1999 £38.45 Suprisingly crimson from a wine so old it has a glorious open and fruity entry reminiscent of fruit cake with terrific balance on the palate and a huge finish. This is a sensation bottle and a must for any cellar.
