Rams Leap

Based on the edge of the outback in Merryanbone some 7 hours North west of Sydney this vineyard was mapped out many years ago but it is only over the past 10 years that grapes have been grown on the old river bed. The vineyard is drip irrigrated and fully computerised to ensure the careful use of water usage and quality control of the crop. The use of technology also facilitates the exact stressing of the vines at certain times of the growing season in order to highten quality. Wine makes Simon Gilbert is a really talented guy and is making stuning varietal wines with abundant fruit qualities yet retaining elegance and finesse.

	Rams Leap Merlot R2 2007 £8.95 What a wine! Really meaty and full of dark plummy fruit, soft ripe tannins and a rich and lingering finish.
	Vega Real Crianza R2 2006 £11.35 An intense cherry colour in the glass with aromas of great finesse dominated by black fruits with well integrated barrel flavours. On the palate it is full, structured and potent with flavours of black berries.
