The shining light of Stellenbosch is most certainly the Rustenberg Estate. This pair of wines show exceptional quality and value for money. The Chardonnay would give most consumers the impression that it is from one of the great appellations of the Cote d'Or whilst the John x Merriman is a dead ringer for a classy St Emilion.

Rustenberg Chardonnay - Stellenbosch - 3 bottles
Classic barrel fermented Chardonnay with bright, sweet fruit and richer overtones of nuts and butter. Full on the palate, perfectly balanced and long in the aftertaste, this elegant wine could be thought of as the Meursault of Stellenbosch.

Rustenberg John X Merriman - Stellenbosch - 3 bottles
A blend dominated by Merlot with Cabernets Sauvignon and Franc to complete this right bank look alike. This rich red wine has aromas of blackcurrant with well integrated spicy oak. Notes of cherry on the palate are all completed by an approachable and seamless tannin structure. Complex and multi-layered this is a wonderful bottle and at it's best with hearty beef stews, roast meats or casseroled game.
