What a great bottle for the money. This is a fantastic wine made mainly from the Merlot grape which gives aromas of spicy plums, deep fruit on the palate perfectly balanced by ripe tannins which lead through to a full and lasting aftertaste. Simply great!

The house of G.H. Mumm can trace it’s history back to 1827 and over the years it has become known for the red sash on the label, mirroring that of the Legion d’honneur, France’s highest honour. More recently it has become synonymous with both yachting and of course Formula 1.
As with nearly all houses, the flagship of the range is the N/V Cuvee, which offers a fresh yet full bodied style with good fruit aromas and flavours balanced by notes of caramel and yeast beneath.

Last year, the Eguren family invited us to a party to celebrate 50 years of Sierra Cantabria. What a party! El Bulli did the catering and sensational it was too, but the highlight of the day was a series of tastings showing wines from decades ago to the modern day, all of which were quite superb. In fact, in the historic tasting was a wine that we sold when it was first released. I felt old!! Although we're not in a position to repeat these tastings, we thought it would be a good idea to prepare some cases of mixed wines offering something from each of their Bodegas both in Rioja and Toro to demonstrate the exceptional quality of their range.
