Costieres de Nimes Blanc - Mas Carlot
Overview
Owner and winemaker Nathalie Blanc-Marès was brought up in Paris where her father and grandfather before owned a restaurant in Les Halles – le Pied de Cochon (the pigs foot!) It was her father who suggested she studies oenology and finally sold the restaurant to buy this estate. A smart move! She’s making exemplary wines and this is certainly a testament to her skill. A blend of Roussanne (60%) Marsanne (30%) and Viognier this is a complex blend which offers plenty of citric and exotic aromas over a stoney minerality. Round on the palate with a mineral structure which becomes round and long in the finish. At it’s best with seafood.
