Another excellent offering from Louis Barruol who really understands the various terroirs of the Rhone Valley. Made from two distict parcels, one near Vinsobres and the other in stoney soil close to the Rhone River, both of which make a great home for the Syrah grape. It's full on the palate with spice notes, plenty of red fruit flavours, some floral notes too and a touch of licquorice and lead pencil in the finish. This is weel above the level of most Cotes du Rhone and more than justifies its price.
