Odé d’Aydie – Chateau d’Aydie Madiran
Overview
100% Tannat planted on clay / limestone and around 20 years of age. Low yields (45 hcto/hctr) and hand harvesting give prime fruit to the winemaker. In the winery the grapes undergo a long maceration of 25 days and malolactic fermentation in 400 litre barrels for 18 months. Very aromatic with notes of toast mingling with blueberry and blackberry perfumes. Round and supple on the palate with a long fruity finish. Best served between 15 and 17°C and decant it if you can for about 3 hours before serving.
