One of Puglias’ finest reds and certainly one that is currently in fashion. Primitivo is believed to be related to the Zinfandel grape. It certainly produces robust red wines as this is with the clay / limestone soils making a great home for this grape variety. The moderate winters and hot dry summers ensure excellent ripeness and following a manual harvest the wine is fermented in a traditional manor albeit in stainless steel thermo – regulated tanks. The colour is an intense ruby with bright and full aromas of mature red fruits with notes of undergrowth and spice. It’s full flavoured on the palate with plenty of ripe tannins and a long and lingering aftertaste.
