Bladen Wines - Marlborough

Bladen Wines is a new addition to our catalogue. In 1989, Christine and Dave Macdonald left their city lives behind to realise a dream of establishing a vineyard and winery. With a caravan in tow, the family embarked on a national tour to find the ideal winegrowing region and vineyard location.

Settling in Renwick, part of the fabled Marlborough district, they planted their vines by hand, initially growing grapes for local wineries before launching their own Bladen Wines label - Bladen coming from their two childrens names, Blair and Deni. They are now highly regarded in the area and are making wines of exceptional quality and  style from this cool climate region.

As you would expect from Marlborough, Bladen Wines specialise in the production of Sauvignon Blanc but they have a full portfolio of grape varieties and more will be appearing with us over the coming year. Excellent wines and a cut above the vast majority of offerings from New Zealand in general and Marlborough in particular.
