Chateau Tour des Gendres - Bergerac

We''ve been working with Luc de Conti at Chateau Tour des Gendres for over 20 years during which time his wines have gone from excellent to quite sublime! Since 2005 he has given the estate over to organic viticulture putting the local flora and fauna in perfect harmony. Some may consider him a touch avant garde as a wine maker but one thing is for sure, his attention to detail is second to none and every bottle shows his warm and generous personality.

When visting the cellars at Tour des Gendres, you soon become aware of the attention to detail that Luc insists on. If there's a drop of wine that is spilt on floor or barrel, it is immediately cleaned with a solution of water and SO2, the wine-makers disinfectant! Mind you, this is where the sulphur use comes to an end. The wines are extremely pure and, being organic, you can be sure that they're chemical free. 

These are wines not to be missed and although they are in general, not expensive, they will grace any table and more often than not eclipse wines of far greater cost. Chateau Tour des Gendres is a wonderful property and Luc de Conti a wine-maker of extraordinary ability and without doubt, a true passion for creating wines that are close to being works of art.
