The Corte Adami estate was created in 1984 by Angelo and Andrea Adami. The family had previously been vine growers in Soave and Valpolicella and they supplied grapes to some of the noblest houses of the region. Since they decided to go solo, they have carved out an incredible reputation for their wines both at home and abroad and they are now considered as one of the finest estates.
Soave is a land of rich, rolling hills and the Corte Adami vineyards are in the cru of Castelcerino where the soils are ideally suited to the Garganega grape. The use of only stainless steel for fermentation and ageing mean that the resultant wines are fresh, elegant and refined. In fact, perfect examples of Soave.
The Valpoicella vineyards of Corte Adami that are responsible for the Amarone production are at least 40 years of age producing wonderful fruit from each of the four grape varieties - Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella and Molinara - and part of the very modern cellar is given over to the "passito" or drying of the grapes. This particular process is for both Amarone and Recioto di Soave, the two wines that are simply sensational at this estate. Not to try then would be a real shame!
