The Chavy family have lived in Puligny for over 200 years yet the domaine of Alain Chavy was only created in 2003 with the splitting of the Gerrard Chavy domaine between the two brothers, Alain and Jean-Louis.
The cellars of this estate are renowned for being the deepest in Puligny where the water table is very high, but s Domaine Alain Chavy is set to be recognised for far more than its cellars over the coming years thanks to the astounding quality that he is producing.
Alain Chavy owns vineyards in the fabled premier crus of Clavaillons and Pucelles, two of Puligny's finest vineyards that don't bear the Grand Cru status. His Chevalier Montrachet is spectacular and although expensive, is one of the finest expressions of Chardonnay available in the world today. These are wines of exceptional quality where refinement and finesse are the hallmarks.
