When we were first introduced to Alain Coudert, we new immediately that this was a winemaker we could do business with. No new oak barrels here. In fact the wine making is very traditional and ideally suited to the terroir in this area of Fleurie. The vineyards are mainly situated on the Fleurie/Moulin a Vent border where the clay soils that are rich in Manganese give a firm and masculine wine with definite olive and cigar box notes beneath the fine, sweet fruit. There is also an old vines cuvee that is picked slightly later than the other vines that is a really full on Beaujolais and almost drinks like a wine from the Cote d''Or.

Fleurie 'Clos De La Roilette' |
Better than your average Fleurie, this wonderful wine from Alain Coudert is generously fruited with more complex notes of tobacco and cinnamon. Great Beaujolais.
