Domaine Jean-Marc Bouley is a fairly recent creation by Burgundian standards yet the family can trace its history back to 1527 in Volnay. The estate is now considered one of the finest in the village making wines of class and breeding.
Jean-Marc Bouley took over the reins at the family estate in 1965, gradually adding to the original family holdings until 1983 when the estate was in its current form. When son Thomas joined in the business, a great leap in quality was seen- and tasted!- putting his training in Oregon and New Zealand to great use.
The domaine now employs some modern techniques alongside the traditions of Burgundy and every bottle of Domaine Jean-Marc Bouley wine has the hallmark of the individual terroir stamped through it. These are great wines and to see the house style, the Clos de la Cave is always a great benchmark.
