Domaine Pascal Prunier-Bonheur
The original Prunier estate was based in Auxey Duresses and although the wines were good, they lacked the charm and elegance that can be found today.
This is mainly thanks to Pascal Prunier's oenologist wife who has not only had an influence on the wine-making but also contributed a rather fine parcel of Meursault Les Narvaux to the already impressive list of vineyard holdings. The style is one of restained elegance. The wines lack nothing in terms of power but this is not shown aggressively but rather with refinement and great elegance.
The acid test of any fine Burgundy is to demonstrate its origins and this is done in spades at the Prunier domaine. One wine to point out especially is the delicious Beaune Prevoles; great value and very stylish.

Delicious white Burgundy from this lesser known appellation. Great value too. Fresh, clean and with a stoney mineral finish, this makes for a great food wine and will partner a wide variety of foods.

Quality of red Burgundy can vary greatly especially at the lower end. This is top wine at a great price and certainly one not to miss. Loads of spicy raspberry fruit with hints of violets too.

A fine Beaune from this excellent 2009 vintage. Pascal Prunier has made a delicious wine here that shows why Beaune is so sort after. Richly fruited with a good solid structure. Great for now or later.

Meursault Les Narvaux - Domaine Pascal Prunier Bonheur 2008 |
Classically framed Meursault, rich in fruit and mineral with delicious sweet fruit and perfectly balanced acidity. Fun to drink now but this wonderful Meursault will repay cellaring for some years yet.
