Domaine Sipp Mack - Alsace
Based in the picturesque village of Hunawihr, the Domaine Sipp Mack is one of the finest of Alsace, making wine in an open and fruit driven style. Jaques Sipp and his american wife Laura are the most delightful people you could hope to meet and their warm, friendly personalities are emulated by their wines which are simply delicious!
Having great respect for nature, the Sipp Mack vineyards are farmed in an almost organic fashion (Tyflo) ensuring the perfect harmony of nature on their land and thereafter, the finest of fruit coming into the winery. All of the Alsace varieties are cultivated here and for us, the jewel in the crown is the Riesling from the Grand Cru of Rosacker, a wine great to drink young but even more sensational with some age on it''s back.
Alsace wines just don't get recognised enough in the UK and these stunning examples at Sipp Mack are certainly worthy of every cellar. Do give them a try, you'll never be disappointed and more likely than not, you'll fall in love with these little gems.

One of the least fragrant varieties of Alsace but a great partner to food. The gentle notes of peach and pear combine perfectly with the gentle acidity which gives a fresh, elegant finish.

Alsace Riesling is a much under-rated wine and this wonderful example made by Jacques Sipp is quite delicious. Green apple fruit, crunchy acidity and a fresh, lively finish. Super!

The most well known of the Alsace wines and a great example too. Made by Jacques Sipp, the wine is full flavoured with spice notes behind the open lychee and rose aromas.

Quite delicious. Although the same grape as Pinot Grigio it is a mile away in style. Richly flavoured with smokey notes with hints of toast against the luscious, rich ripe pear fruit. Wine Spectator 92 points.

One of the finest sites for Riesling in Alsace but yet little heard of. This gives a wine with some citrus notes beneath the ripe fruit flavours. Delicious now but ages well too. Wine Spectator 90 points.
