The Domaine Tollot Beaut has been making wines since the 1880's and it is now the 5th generation at the helm in the form of Natalie, Oliver and Jean-Paul. The estate is based in Chorey-les-Beaune and is without doubt one of the finest of the Cote d'Or. In fact, if I had to demonstrate just what Pinot Noir tastes like, I'd show a bottle of Pinot Noir from this estate.
Tollot Beaut has a wide range of appellations ranging from the said Bourgogne Rouge to a couple of various Corton Vineyards including a small parcel of En Charlemagne. Traditional vinification gives wines of good colour with full aromas and a great capacity for ageing. In fact the quality of their wines starts like everybody else at the top of the tree-in, the vineyard. They have a rather old clone of Pinot Noir, which has become much sought after and which gives a wonderful core of fruit in the wines throughout their portfolio, but especially in the Savigny 1er cru wines.
Whatever you're searching for in your Burgundy, you'll find it at Tollot Beaut, from the rusticity of Aloxe Corton to the sheer charm of Savigny Les Lavieres. Superb wines.
