Elena Walch was originally an architect who married into one of the Alto Adige's most established and respected wine families. As she took over the running of the business, she set about transforming the vineyards using the finest clones of grape varieties that although yielding low quantities, give the highest quality.
With the region lying on the southern alpine slopes, exposures of the Elena Walch vineyards are such that the vines are guaranteed the maximum exposure to the ripening rays of the sun. White wines are without doubt the speciality here with wines of clearly defined fruit flavours, but don't let the reds escape you, they are fresh and elegant and are perfectly suited to rich, hearty foods.
With out doubt, the Elena Walch wines are some of the most undiscovered gems of not only the Alto Adige but also of Italy in its entirity. Never cheap but always exceptional!
