J & H Selbach - Selbach Oster - Mosel

Johannes Selbach is a most affable man, easy going and softly spoken. His wines, both from the family estate Selbach Oster and the negotiant company J & H Selbach, are simply delicious showing all the racy acidity and fine fruit that you would associate with the Mosel Valley. German wines in general and the Mosel Valley wines in particular have all too often been overlooked by the modern-day UK consumer, but these offerings should never be dismissed and they are worthy of inclusion in every cellar. The Selbach Estate is situated in the delightful village of Zeltingen and perilously close to the River Mosel too for it has a history of the cellars flooding! The wines here are of the finest quality and range from the traditional Kabinett wines through the more modern styles of Trocken and Halbtrocken through to the most lucious Beerenausleses and Eisweins.

For the negotiant company, J&H Selback, Johannes selects wines from friends in the various regions ensuring that quality is commensurate with the Selbach name. Try the Saar Riesling, it's like drinking filigree with Mozart sounding in you ears!
