The company of Paul Jaboulet Aine was until recently in family hands and this wine was certainly made in the reign of Nicolas Jaboulet before the company was sold. There flagship has always been the Hermitage La Chapelle, called after the small chapel which surmounts the hillside of Hermitage overlooking the winding River Rhone.

This is one of the signature wines, not just of Jaboulet but also the southern Rhone Valley. At it's peak now, it is ripe, full flavoured and silky with a terrific finish. Syrah at it's finest.
