Bladen Marlborough Gewurztraminer
This off-dry Gewurztraminer is an exceptional food wine especially for Asian dishes. Bladen Gewurztraminer is a masterpiece of wine making and they have managed to capyure the essence of this aromatic grape variety par excellence. The nose has bright aromas of rose petals, ginger and other spices and lychee fruit. The palate is full bodied, textured and has oodels of ginger spice, orange peel and lychee fruit. Good to go now but also will hold up well and reward the patient after some 4 to 5 years of cellaring. Beautifully complements Thai style prawns, click here for the recipe.

This single vineyard Gewurztraminer was hand-picked on the 13th April 2016 after a near perfect summer. The bunches were pressed in the cool of the morning to protect the aromas and after a day's settling it was fermented with selected yeats at cool temperature, again to protect the aromas. Some natural residual sugar was left after fermentation to give amplified fruit flavours and aromas and the wine has a wonderful balance between acid, sugar and alcohol.
This off-dry Gewurztraminer is lucious, irresistibly rich with aromas of Turkish delight and lychee. Hints of spice round off the lingering finish.
