Moccagatta Barbaresco 2010

Sold out
Original price £30.75
Current price £24.75

"Moccagatta's 2010 Barbaresco shows brawn and sheer muscle with dark fruit aromas of blackcurrant and prune followed by generous servings of leather, tobacco and spice. Rounded and fleshy fruit layers are supported by firm structure with thickly textured tannins. This is a bold and masculine wine that is ready to drink now. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2020." 91 Points. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, 06/13

The Minuto family has been growing grapes since the 1800s, starting with great-great-grandfather Giovanni Minuto. Over the years, each successive generation (great-grandfather Luigi, grandfather Mario, followed by brothers Sergio and Franco) has made important contributions to elevate Moccagatta’s status to that of one of the finest estates in Barbaresco. Cousins Martina and Stefano are the youngest generation to join in these efforts.

Moccagatta’s signature winemaking style often polarises people, dividing them into two camps: those who love this fleshy and modern style, and others who find it over the top. We say that there is nothing wrong with indulging in Nebbiolo’s softer side - especially in a beautiful vintage like 2010.
