Bodega & Vinedos Mi Terruno

Bodega & Vinedos Mi Terruno

A true family enterprise which dates back to 1960. Originally the Baigerria family bought and planted vineyards in some of Argentina's top growing regions until in 2004 they started producing their own wines.

The company is based in San Roque in the Maipu region of Mendoza with the winery originally being a glass factory hence the many glass mosaics which adorn the building. The vineyard holdings are based in several areas, all of which are noted for the production of exceptional fruit.

In the High Mendoza River Area they have sites in Lujan de Cuyo and Maipu where vineyards are irrigated by the snow melts of the Andes  from the Mendoza River. Here the average daily temperature is just 15 degrees C and with a large diurnal temperature change the grapes benefit from a long growing season permitting Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon of fine quality and character. They also have vineyard sites in the Uco Valley where the grapes have a good acidity and produce wines of great freshness with plenty of ageing potential.

The family split the duties of the company with Maria Eugenia being the winemaker and brother Gabriel looking after sales. The latest team member from the family is Igancio who looks after the logistics. Maria Eugenia is tasked with living up to the winery name - Mi Terruno translates as My Terroir - and an excellent job she does too with the wines she crafts being so typical of the finest that Mendoza has to offer.
