Domaine De La Coume Du Roy Muscat De Rivesaltes is pale gold in colour, crystal clear and very bright. Vibrant, floral and gently herbaceous aromas of the garrigue mingle with elegant lime, verbena and lychee notes on the nose. The palate is packed with juicy lemon curd, grapefruit and lychee fruit flavours, freshened by white pepper spice and vibrant acidity. A thread of floral perfume - somewhere between honeysuckle and jasmine - seductively weaves its way through the palate and into the long and pleasingly mouthwatering finish. Honeyed, but perfectly balanced and not at all too sweet.

In 1285, Arnaud De Villeneuve, a medical doctor from Montpellier, succeeded in retaining the sweetness in wine through a procedure of his own invention - fortification. This technique involves the addition of alcohol to the grape must to halt the wine’s fermentation. The yeasts stop their activity and the unfermented grape sugars remain in the wine.

Domaine De La Coume Du Roy fortifies its wines at just the right moment with just the right amount of alcohol, influencing and shaping their style and flavour. Most recently, Domaine De La Coume Du Roy has sought to capture not only the sugar from its grapes but also the balance, freshness and character of individual vintages.

Made from 50% Muscat Petits Grains and 50% Muscat D'Alexandrie, it was fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats and great care 
was taken to prevent any form of oxidation. The extra alcohol was added to the juice halfway through its fermentation and it was then aged on its lees in tank for six months.
