Dominio De Eguren Protocolo Tinto is a wine of great focus and depth yet with great charm and finesse. Plenty of spicy red berries on the nose, very characteristic of Tempranillo. Medium bodied, with a good tannic and acidic equilibrium finishing with notes of raspberry, vanilla and hints of oak. This wine offers exceptional value.

Founded by the fourth generation of the Eguren family, Dominio De Eguren was conceived as a project to produce fine wines at a reasonable price. The winery is located in the municipality of Páganos in the province of Alava and uses a total of 15 vineyards spread across domains of Vinos de la Tierra de Castilla and Vinos de Mesa.

From Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
The 2013 Dominio De Eguren Protocolo Tinto, which is 100% Tempranillo and completely unadorned by oak, or any other makeup, is a large, 15,000-case cuvée that represents terrific value. Lush, ripe black and red currant notes, along with a hint of cherry and dusty, earthy undertones are present in this medium-bodied, lush and attractive, well-balanced wine. This is a delicious, fruit-forward effort to drink over the next several years. 11/15. 86 Points
