Crozes-Hermitage has the largest vineyard area of any of the northern Rhône appellations and it is located in the Drôme département on the left bank of the river. The terraced vineyards lie just to the north of Hermitage, on similar granite soil. The name originally included only the vineyards of the town of Crozes-Hermitage, but it spread to encompass neighbouring towns afterwards.

About the grower

The Brunel family has returned to its négociant heritage with the Brunel De La Gardine collection. This allows them to offer wines from a wide range of both Southern and Northern Rhône appellations without the incredible expense of purchasing vineyards. Patrick Brunel chooses the best wines from each appellation thanks to his longstanding relationships with top winegrowers in the area. The family then uses all their knowledge and experience to blend and mature the wines, respecting the tradition and the typicity of each terroir. The packaging, with the special Gardine bottle, is the signature of this fine selection.
