Antonini Ceresa Primitivo Di Puglia
Antonini Ceresa Primitivo Di Puglia has a great depth of colour and a good structure extracted from the skins. The colour is an intense red with some purple notes at the rim. The bouquet is complex with notes of spice above the red fruit jam. Full bodied with soft, ripe tannins.
Grape Variety: Primitivo
Bottle Size: 75cl
Style: Dark fruit and spice
Drink With: Red meats, barbecues or vegetable casseroles
Antonini Ceresa produces this from vineyards in the Salento and Manduria areas of Puglia, where the Primitivo grape grows to perfection.
Why we like this wine
Primitivo, often referred to as Italian Zinfandel, can produce wines that are overly tannic but this one is as smooth as silk. It doesn't lack body however and is generous on the palate but with tannins that are ripe and unobtrusive. It drinks well above its price point and makes a wonderful partner to red meats.
- Top value
