Pinot Noir for the Summer
Pinot Noir is one of the delicious reds that can be slightly chilled in the summertime to increase the refreshing qualities of the wine. But it comes in various shapes and sizes and from different countries too, so there’ll be one that fits the bill for what you are doing.
Pinot Noir de l’Aude 2020 Domaine d’O, Languedoc, France
Made in the Burgundian style and from older grapes too, this Pinot Noir is juicy and packed with aromas and flavours of cherry and blackcurrant in a style that is both elegant yet complex. Delicious.
Pinot Noir Les Carisannes – Domaine Brochard, Loire Valley, France
Combining cherry fruit and violet aromas with a round, fresh palate of black fruit and spice notes, this is supple and nicely balanced. Drink it cool but not really chilled.
Terra Noble Pinot Noir Reserva – Casablanca Valley, Chile
Excellent Southern Hemisphere Pinot Noir that simply exudes red fruit flavours and aromas, especially cherries. 15% if it was aged for a short while in 2nd-year oak barrels which helped the tannins soften and this together with the vibrant acidity gives a persistent finish.
Bourgogne Rouge – Domaine du Bicheron, France
A juicy and very easy drinking red Burgundy made purely from Pinot Noir. It's very easy to drink with good fruit on both the nose and the palate with some notes of the spice above the bright raspberry fruit. This is an ideal food wine.
Pinot Noir – Trentham Estate, New South Wales, Australia
This wine has a delicate, lifted aroma displaying strawberry and red cherry fruits. These flavours continue to the palate and are supported by subtle oak characters. The flavours linger with a long, delicate, fruit-driven finish.
