Domaine Rapet Père Et Fils Corton Pougets Grand Cru 2013

Domaine Rapet Pere Et Fils Corton Pougets Grand Cru 2013 has a harmonious bouquet of raspberry and wild strawberry scents with candied orange peel emerging with aeration. The palate shows well structured tannins that have a gently savoury and leathery character, with more than adequate fruit weight on the finish. It just needs another year or two in bottle to start to show at its best.

The Corton hill sits at the confluence of the villages of Ladoix, Aloxe-Corton and Pernand-Vergelesses. Corton is the only red grand cru on the Côte De Beaune. Located at an altitude of between 250 and 300 metres, the vineyard forms an unrivalled amphitheatre with an exceptional southern exposure to trap the sunlight.

Domaine Rapet Père Et Fils aims to make brightly fruited wines with rich, yet integrated tannins - the mark of well ripened grapes. After harvesting, the grapes are carefully sorted at the winery before fermentation and ageing that takes place in oak barrels, of which 20% are new. The grapes and the wine are handled as little as possible to preserve every ounce of their character.
