Trentham Estate The Family Nero d'Avola
The robust nature of Nero d'Avola and its ability to produce high quality fruit and wine in an hot climate made it a must have for the Trentham Estate.
The wine shows true varietal character that is expected of the Nero d'Avola grape - it has a medium-body with good balance of ripe dark fruits and some savoury notes in the finish.
A hint of oak balanced by juicy acidity and soft ripe tannins make for a long and satisfying aftertaste.

Warm and dry conditions throughout January and February made for an early and condensed 2015 vintage.
The Nero d’Avola was one of the last reds to be harvested and was picked on the 4th March, with the fruit in excellent condition with great colour and flavour.
The grapes were crushed, de-stemmed and transferred into tank where they were inoculated with yeast, then fermented over an eight day period with regular mixing of the must to extract colour and flavour from the skins.
After pressing the wine was allowed to settle then racked to French oak barrels where it spent 12 months before being filtered and bottled in September 2016.
