Two Excellent Wines

Chateau de la Ragotiere has been one of our top selections for donkey’s years, ever since our first meeting and tasting with Bernard Couillaud back in the late 1980’s. What a tasting it was too. We tasted wines going back to the 1950’s – so who says Muscadet won’t age. We now deal with his daughter Amelie, who came over to work for us for a month to improve her English. It didn’t need improving but she was fun to work with.

Over the years the quality of the wines hasn’t varied and remains superb and as a summertime wine the Vieille Vignes Muscadet has consistently proved to be excellent for young drinking.

Domaine du Bicheron

This superb little estate in southern Burgundy mainly produces white wines but this juicy and well flavoured Pinot Noir make for very easy drinking and at this time of year it can also be served cool if the sun is beating down. Put it with a rare steak or a duck breast and it will be a great partner.
