Over the last few years, Italian white wine have made something of a comeback, for one reason is that they tend not to be oaky and thus offer great freshness. They are great with food too thanks to the good minerality they provide, esoecially good with fish and seafood, they can be drunk year round.

We have seen not just the old favourites like Soave and Pinot Grigio return to popularity but lesser known wines such as Falanghina and Favorita are topping the pops too.

This case contains:

Soave Classico "Cimalta" - Corte Adami

100% Garganega grape, the nose is delicately floral with ripe yellow fruit and a chalky, citrus edge. Deliciously refreshing and lengthy on the palate, this uniquely mineral, almost saline Soave also has plenty of ripe, citrussy fruit that lingers all the way through the finish. A high altitude vineyard and a high peak of winemaking.

Favorita "Alissa" - Ciabot Berton

Favorita is the Piemonte name for Vermentino. The enticing nose of this wine has delicate aromas of citrus and of more exotic fruits. The palate is similarly graceful and fresh, leading to a vibrant finish with a final note of richness.

Gavi Etichetta Bianca - Tenuta la Marchesa

Perhaps the most popular of Piemontese white wines, Gavi comes from close to the city of Alessandria. It has bright, green apple and pear fruit dominating the bouquet, with hints of wild flowers poking through. The palate is generous yet stylish, with a perfect level of acidity to balance the unexpectedly rich core of white fruit

Fiano d'Avellino - Cavalier Pepe

Once known as Vitis Apiana (‘api’ meaning ‘bee’), Fiano grapes ripen slowly at altitude, resulting in wines that are complex and refined. There are floral, white blossom nuances above the bright aromas reminiscent of white peach, with notes of grapefruit, sage and mint. These give way to a dry palate, aromatic with fruit flavours, grapefruit and hints of wild fennel – all with a perfectly balanced crisp acidity for freshness.

Pinot Grigio "Alisia" - Astoria Vini

This is what Pinot Grigio should be like. Astoria Alisia Pinot Grigio is fresh yet soft on the palate, with hay and nutty notes alongside delicate peppery spice with delicious pear fruit and a perfect level of acidity to refresh the palate. As you would expect, no oak is used as it would detract from the natural purity of fruit.

Riesling l'Alman - Anna Maria Abbona

A wine that has bright aromas of green apples with some notes of petrol developing even at this young age. It's wonderfully refreshing and will partner well with a wide variety of dishes especially freshwater fish such as trout or salmon. The brisk freshness of the fruit and the tangy acidity unfurl on the palate, combining with the mineral structure, a filigree elegance and a mouth-watering finish.

The 6 bottle case contains one bottle of each wine; the 12 bottle case contains two bottles of each wine.
