Acustic Celler Auditori 2010 is bright ruby red. High pitched aromas of black raspberry and Asian spices, with a subtle, smoky quality. Zesty and precise, with tangy red and dark berry flavours that show very good focus, picking up a touch of allspice with air. It ends sweet and long, with no obvious tannins and very good clarity.

Acústic Celler Auditori is made from old vine Garnatxa (planted between 1920 and 1940) located in Capçanes, Els Guiamets and Cornudella. Altitudes of the vineyards range from 450-750 metres and the grapes were hand harvested in late October at very low yields of just 10-15hl/ha. After a cool soak and 20 days of maceration, the wine spent 12 months in French oak, both new and second fill.

Albert Jané is a talented and very dynamic producer who started his own project in 2003. Talking with him is always rewarding as his passion is infectious. Albert says, "Auditori represents the landscape: subtle, flavourful, delicate and pure. Old Garnatxas are extremely deep-flavoured. The Auditori (Auditorium) is a magical space where you can listen to music and feel in peace, the same sensation that you can have in front of a breathtaking landscape or tasting the melody the wine can offer. Montsant is a hard, arid place. The climate can dominate man, but at the same time it is marvellous and generous, giving outstanding fruit from old vines. Acústic Celler tries to express the purity of a vineyard to the maximum. I like 'unplugged' wines, without makeup, without amplification, showing just the pure wine, in an 'acoustic' way."

From Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar:
Glass-staining ruby. Powerful, mineral-accented aromas of candied black and blue fruits, potpourri and liquorice. Chewy, tightly focused cassis and boysenberry flavours show a refreshingly bitter edge and become spicier with air. Plenty rich but there's very good energy here thanks to the bright minerality. Closes sappy and very long, with slow-building tannins and a lingering floral note. 93 Points
