Cahors Cuvee des Baldes Clos Triguedina - Famille Baldes
This bold and juicy Cahors comes from the 2nd, 3rd and 4th terraces of the appellation and is a blend of 85% Malbec with 10% Merlot and 5% Tannat. A wine of the highest quality. The vines are more than 30 years of age and thus give the finest of fruit that the winemaker can fashion into something really special. Very traditional in production, it is given around 18 days of vatting before ageing in French oak barrels for 12 months. It has intense flavours of red and black fruits backed by some menthol notes with a background of liquorice. It has great structure and concentration yet shows finesse and typicity. A wonderful balance and depth of flavour, this is a very traditional Cahors that is the perfect partner to dishes with truffle, roast meats and flavoursome cheeses.
