Chateau De La Ragotiere Muscadet De Sevre Et Maine Sur Lie is pale yellow in colour, with a nose dominated by minerally aromas. The same registers on the lean, dry palate, which also develops floral and white fruit flavours. The finish of this expressive cuvée reverts to the stoney, mineral characters so typical of Muscadet.

Château De La Ragotière Muscadet De Sèvre Et Maine Sur Lie 1er Cru Du Château Sélection Vieilles Vignes, to give it its full title, is made from the oldest vines of the estate, between 40 and 60 years of age. They grow on mica schist soils that impart rich fruit flavours and an underlying minerality to the palate that makes this Muscadet such an enjoyable partner to food. It is aged on its lees for 10 months before being bottled.

From Roger Voss writing in Wine Enthusiast Magazine:
The old vines here do give some concentration. More importantly, they give a great swathe of ripe fruit that is so crisp and refreshing. Lemon and the lightest texture are lifted by intense acidity and a lively, fresh aftertaste. This wine is ready to drink. Best Buy.
