Jean-Claude Arnaud runs this lovely 3 hectare estate in the village of Vignonet. Nurtured by the Right Bank’s typical gravelly soil, the vines at Château Pontet Plaisance are an average of 50 years old. Merlot dominates the blend and the balance is equal amounts of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. The blend was aged in new oak barrels for 12 months.
